Google Ads Integration

🔧 How to Connect Google Ads Pixel (Step-by-Step Guide)

Learn how to integrate your Google Ads Pixel with wetracked.io to accurately track your campaign performance across your store.

This guide provides a complete step-by-step setup for Shopify, WooCommerce, and Funnelish users.

🧩 Before You Begin

Make sure you are logged in to your Google Ads Manager before starting.

This will ensure that you can access and create the necessary conversion actions right away.

🪄 Step 1: Open Your Store in wetracked.io

  1. Go to your app dashboard.
  2. Choose your store platform (Shopify, WooCommerce, or Funnelish).
  3. Open the store you want to connect your Google Ads Pixel to.

⚠️ If your store isn’t linked yet, make sure to link it first before proceeding.

🧠 Step 2: Enable and Add Your Google Pixel

Scroll down to the Google Pixel section, toggle it ON, and click “Add Pixel.”

You’ll then need to enter your Conversion ID and Conversion Labels, which you’ll get from your Google Ads Manager later in this guide.

🎯 Step 3: Create a New Conversion Action in Google Ads for wetracked.io

In Google Ads Manager, go to

Goals → Summary → New Conversion Action (or Create New Conversion Action if one already exists).

⚙️ Step 4: Choose Your Tag Type

When setting up the conversion:

  • Select “Google Tag” as your tag type.
  • Enter your website URL (e.g., www.sample.com).
  • Click Save and Continue.

🛒 Step 5: Choose the Conversion Action Type

Google Ads supports four conversion types compatible with wetracked.io:

  • Purchase
  • Add to Cart
  • Begin Checkout
  • Pageview

Start with Purchase, then click Save and Continue. (see attached screenshot below)

💡 Step 6: Configure “Purchase” Conversion Action

Follow these settings carefully for each step after selecting "Purchase":

  1. Add Conversion Action → select Google Tag

  1. Choose Set up manually using code then, proceed by clicking Conversion Settings to further customize the conversion configuration.

  1. As for customizing the "Conversion settings"
  • Choose "Primary action used for bidding optimization" under Action optimization
  • Since we initially select Purchase as our first conversion action. Ensure that the conversion action is named Purchase (wetracked.io). This will prevent confusion with other existing conversion actions, especially if you are using additional or other tracking tools.

Then, configure as follows

  • ValueUse different values for each conversion
  • CountEvery
  • Enhanced ConversionsManaged through Google Tag

Click Done once complete.

✅ That's it for PURCHASE Conversion action. Repeat this process for Add to Cart, Begin Checkout, and Pageview using the same structure.

In the event that you have to repeat the process for Add to Cart, Begin Checkout, and Pageview, just select "Add another Category"

📋 Step 10: Create All Four Conversion Actions

You should have four conversion actions created in total and under Conversion settings they should differ on "Value" tab, please see below the preferred value for each conversion actions:

Conversion Name

Recommended Value Setting

Purchase (wetracked.io)

Use different values for each conversion

Add to Cart (wetracked.io)

Use different values for each conversion

Begin Checkout (wetracked.io)

Use different values for each conversion

Pageview (wetracked.io)

Don’t use a value for this conversion (optional)

Once all four conversion actions have been created -- kindly save them and navigate to “Use Google Tag Manager.” From there, you will be able to view the necessary details — including the Conversion ID and Conversion Label for each conversion category — which you will need to input into our app.

🧩 Step 11: Add Pixel Details in wetracked.io

Return to your store inside wetracked.io.

  1. Click Add Conversion Actions.
  2. Enter the Conversion ID and Conversion Label for each action (from Google Ads).
  3. Click Add Pixel → then Save.

🧱 Step 12: (Shopify Only) Add Custom Pixel Code

You don't have to do this step if you are using WooCommerce but if your store is on Shopify, go to

Settings → Customer Events → Add Custom Pixel, and paste the following code:

!function(t,i,p,s){(o=p.createElement("script")).async=!0,o.src="https://pixel.wetracked.io/shopify-pixel.js?shop="+t.init.data.shop.myshopifyDomain,p.head.append(o),i.ctx=t,i["wt:options"]=s}(this,window,document,{});

🔍 Step 13: Sanitary Check and Optimization

After setup, go to Goals → Summary in Google Ads to review your conversion actions.

  • Make sure that Purchase (wetracked.io) **is set as your **Account Default Goal then set it as Primary under "Action optimization" -- just hit "edit goal" to make these changes

Important notice

  • If Add to Cart (wetracked.io), Begin Checkout (wetracked.io), and Pageview (wetracked.io) was not set as Account default then set them as Primary actions just like "Purchase (wetracked.io)"
  • Avoid duplicate tracking by ensuring only one Primary “Purchase” source is active therefore if you have two Purchase as Conversion action, 1 is for wetracked.io and 1 is for other source. Only set 1 as Primary source -- depending on your preference. If you are already comfortable that wetracked.io provides correct data then you can set Purchase (wetracked.io) as Primary then leave the other Purchase conversion action as "Secondary"
  • In the event that you have set Add to Cart, Begin Checkout, Pageview and Purchase as "Account default Goal". Please ensure to only set the Purchase as the only Primary. (always make note that you only need to set 1 Primary source for Purchase)

🕒 Note: Your conversion actions might appear as “Inactive” initially. This is normal and will update automatically once tracking data starts coming in.

🕒 Note: If you are currently using another tracking tool, you may keep that source set as Primary. However, if you are already confident that wetracked.io provides more accurate data, you can update your settings and designate Purchase (wetracked.io) as the Primary tracking source under PURCHASE conversion action
